B. Enne on May 28, 2015I love my 3 fibreglass doors! They are from Masonite (we shopped around a long time) and are better than any others we have had: steel, wood, vinyl, aluminum. I have a patio door (South facing) which is wood on the inside, and vinyl on the outside. The vinyl part on the bottom frame keeps detaching. When it finally bites the dust, I will replace it with a fibreglass one as well. BTW, we had 2 storm doors (East and South facing) before. When we switched to FG, we chose to skip the storm doors, and our house is warmer in the winter, and cooler in the summer. As for our FG, East-facing patio door, we upgraded to uv glass, and we don't have too much heat or cold. All my FG doors are in very good shape after 7 years for 2 of them, and 5 years for the patio door.

It's probably too late for you but for those forum browsers who are looking for tips on choosing the perfect patio doors, here are some helpful guidelines: http://joys.realtytimes.com/announcements1/item/38902-3-tips-for-choosing-the-perfect-patio-doors Have a great day everyone!
