DIY Giant Paper Flowers - Spring Mantle Decor

3 Materials
I have had an itch to make some giant paper flowers, but using my scrapbook paper. I have had no specific occasion to make them, like a wedding or party, so I thought why not just use them to decorate my mantle! Lets turn my mantle into something pretty for spring!
Using some pretty buttons, a tape runner (or glue), and 12x12 scrapbook sheets cut out 3 larger flower, 1 flower per 12x12 page - so they are BIG!! Do this in any color you want!!
Here is what the 5 pointed flower looks like when cut. I have a template for this as a single petal you can trace to make this flower. Link on my blog.
Cut the flowers do you have 1 that is whole (5 petals), 1 with 4 petals (the left over is a single petal), and one cut into 3 petals and 2 petals. So nowyou have 5 layers: 5 petals, 4 petals, 3 petals, 2 petals, and 1 petal.
Roll the edges of the petals down to make then look pretty, there are so many ways to do this, pinch them, roll them, twist them, have fun with this! Then add adhesive to each flower to make them into flower, the gold flower above is the 4 pointed flower glued to be a complete flower. Stack the flowers into each other, nesting them, largest at the bottom, 1sngle petal at the top. Use the button to string them all together, like beads on a string.
When stacked together you an bend and fold to reach the desired look you want!!
Here is a video tutorial showing how to make a flower step by step with lots of fun tips!!
These flowers are fun to make and look so pretty on my mantle!!
I made 5 total and layered them with a gold banner on my mantle.
