DIY Spring Moss Wreath
This DIY Spring Moss Wreath is so easy to make.
Seriously…..In 20 to 30 minutes flat you have a show stopper to hang above your mantel.
On your door.
On a mirror.
And, you can even use it as a centerpiece for your table.
Terrain sells a version of this wreath for $150 without the grapevine wreath attached to the back.
I made my version for free as I had everything I needed on hand.
However, if you start from scratch, you can still create this wreath for less than $100.
If you choose not to add the grapevine wreath, your wreath supplies will cost less than $60.
Supplies
1 box Preserved green moss (the package I linked comes with two boxes, you will only use one of those)
Grapevine wreath (mine is 24 inches in diameter)
Straw wreath form (mine is 18 inches in diameter)
2 – 18 gauge floral wire pieces
Glue gun
glue sticks
1 package Preserved white reindeer moss
1 package Preserved mushroom or lichen (it comes in a package mixed with other moss)
Directions
- Place the straw wreath inside the grapevine wreath.
- Secure the two wreaths together at the top and bottom using a piece of floral wire.
- Start gluing the larger pieces of the preserved reindeer moss around the straw wreath.
- Add in some white reindeer moss and lichen to provide visual interest.
- Cover the entire straw wreath where it can be seen on both the outer in and inner portions.
- Hang or place where desired.
Attach the two wreath forms together at the top and bottom.
Start placing the moss on the straw wreath form.
Use hot glue to attach each piece of moss.
Mix in white reindeer moss.
Add in some mushroom or lichen that comes in the bag of mixed moss.
Cover the inside areas of the straw wreath form with moss.
Hang where desired.

Very lovely. I might add that the green moss will fade over a short time. Before adding the reindeer moss and lichen, I always spray my moss with green colored water from a spray bottle. This keeps it green for a longer time.

I love the dimension this creates! You can pick and choose your mosses or add whatever floats your boat really but this is Gorgeous the way it is and the depth just makes it even more gorgeous! I was just working on depth with an old printers tray and pictures and this would just add to the look I’m going for so thank you for sharing!
