Gorgeous Fall Tablescape

Here's a simple, beautiful tablescape idea for your table this fall. I kept most of it simple (because who has time for an elaborate table this time of year?) but the texture and colors add a lot of coziness and make it feel just right for a casual Thanksgiving gathering. If you like this idea, you can see more easy and affordable DIY ideas on my blog, Love & Renovations.
The base of this tablescape is a pretty old wooden toolbox that I found in our workshop. It was dusty and beat up, so I gave it a new life with a fresh coat of green spray paint.
I went with non-traditional fall colors for this tablescape, but it still has a very autumn feel to it. I stuck mostly with blues and greens, with lots of texture thrown in for good measure.

This mismatched plates add some whimsy to the table and help it feel very casual and comfortable.
The pretty leafy garland was a find from the Target Dollar Spot. You never know when inspiration will strike!

To save some money filling the toolbox, I filled the bottom portion with cloth napkins, then added the miniature pumpkins on top. This helped me not have to buy as many pumpkins (they add up!), and you can't see the napkins at all once you add the pumpkins on top.
And finally, to keep the look simple (and to prevent me from having to iron the napkins!) I just tied a simple knot in each napkin and placed it on the plate - no need to fuss with a fancy folding technique!
