This easy Dollar Store project is perfect for decorating for winter after the Christmas season. Once the Christmas decorations come down a house can feel bare. Keep your mantle decorated with a winter jar like this.

Head to the dollar store to pick up thees supplies.

A glass jar ( or use one leftover from your pantry)

Fake snow or little white foam beads

Small snowflake ornaments

Jingle bells

Unscrew the lid and use a hot glue gun to attach the string of the snowflake ornament to the inside of the lid. This will allow the snowflakes to hang into the jar. Try varying the length of the string so the snowflakes hang at different heights.

When the snowflakes are all attached to the lid, let the glue dry completely, then turn it over to see how they hang.

Fill the glass jar with snow or little foam beads about a quarter of the way up. You don't want the snowflake ornaments to touch the snow, they should hang just above it.

Screw the lid onto the jar and decorate the outside with twine and a few bells.

This jar looks lovely for winter with a few twinkle lights behind it. It's the perfect way to decorate after the Christmas season.
