Nothing says Christmas to me like the smells of citrus fruits. They are super easy to do, even, if like me, you don't have a dehydrator. Here is how I did mine!

Grapefruits and Oranges

I chose to use Grapefruit and Oranges. I love the look of dried citrus fruit in a bowl. Other fruits work well too.

Greaseproof paper

Add some Greaseproof paper to a baking tray.

Slice the fuit

Slice the fruit into full size but thin slices

Sliced Fruit

Add sliced citrus fruit on to the greaseproof paper

Heat the oven on a low heat

I set my oven to 100c. I would advise to lower the temperature if you are using a fan oven. Expect it to take around 4-5 hours. Best to keep a check on this though as it is very easy to burn the fruit, it needs to be on very low and very slow. Enjoy the lovely aromas as they begin too dry.

Cooling the dried fruit

Once the fruit is dried, let it cool on a cooling tray.

Use to make a scented display for Christmas

I used mine to add a gorgeous scent to my lounge. I just added them to a cute wooden dish. However, the list of things you could use them for is endless. Add to a wreath for the front door, or to decorate your Christmas Tree, use in wrapping for your gifts, or a garland up your stairs.

Tips for hanging these is to always clump a few together, 3 or more always look much nicer than a single one. Add in pine cones, cinnamon sticks or berries to add texture and more fragrance. Fix with florist wire, ribbon or using craft glue.

More importantly, have a go, have a bit of fun with it and see how creative you get!

Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and all the best for 2020!
