How to Make a Wire Christmas Wreath

This year’s Christmas decor is tending to go more minimalist, more vintage in style, with a nod to the Victorian era but in a fresh new way. You can read all about the Christmas decor trends here! Have you seen all of the beautiful hoop Christmas wreaths out there this year? They are just gorgeous, but can be a little pricey. But, they can be made so easily, for a fraction of the cost! Read below to see how to make a wire Christmas wreath!

I spotted this wire wreath at Target, and asked my Instagram followers if they thought we could make it. Of course, everyone said yes! I’d love for you to follow along in the fun over on Instagram!

Directions for How to Make a Wire Christmas Wreath

Supplies Needed:

~Wire wreath form

~Floral wire

~Wire cutters

~Hot glue gun (optional)

~Fresh or faux greenery

~Ribbon

~Bells

Step 1-Secure the greenery

Wire the end of the greenery to the wreath form to secure it on.

Go further up the branch and secure it again with wire, Try to find a spot where the greenery can hang over the wire to hide it. Secure any spots of the greenery drooping off the form with hot glue, if needed.

Step 2-Begin Other Side

Take a new piece of greenery, and follow the same steps to secure the greenery to the other side of the wreath form.

Step 3-Attach Ribbon and Bells

I laid the ribbon underneath where it was to be tied just to have it there and ready. Twist a piece of wire between two bells and wire it onto the wreath form.

Tie a knot or bow with the ribbon around the wreath form, hiding the wire. Since my ribbon was sheer, I added an extra piece of ribbon to hide the wire.

That’s it!!! It took me about 10 minutes, and cost me under $20 to make! I was able to use wire and a hoop wreath from my stash.

I couldn’t stop! Here is another wire wreath I made! You can do greenery on the top, or on one side! You can do any sort of ribbon or bow! String dollar store jingle bells, or vintage ones! Be creative and have fun!
