Christmas Outdoors is such a sweet touch to add to your holiday décor. Christmas decorating gets better and better the older my daughters get. They have always loved Christmas so needless to say our Christmas’s have been filled with JOY!
Step 1: Decide where you want to do some outdoor Christmas decoration. We decided to create some outdoor Christmas spirit on our back porch.
Step 2: What is Christmas without some good old family time. Load up your family in your car and first head for a Starbucks or something that will begin the trip in good spirits then head on over to a Christmas tree farm. We went to the Havana Christmas Tree farm outside of Tallahassee, FL
Step 3: Now that you have your tree find the perfect spot for it. In our case, we decided on the back porch. Then decide what container you want it in like this old crock. To use an old crock like this you will need to put some bricks in the bottom then add another bucket and place the tree in that bucket. Last, add some more bricks to make sure it stays up and give it some water.
Step 4: Add some light and ornaments. I recommend using some nature inspired ornaments like birds, antlers, berries and so on. This tree is also a great place to add some travel ornaments like these adorable little people from Romania.
Step 5: Now stand back and look at the big pictures. Do all the ornaments look even and balanced. If so then you are done with the tree. Now on to some decorating around the room.
Step 6: Sometimes you already have items that just work to add some Christmas charm. I already had this lantern so I simply put some cuttings from the tree around the base and like magic it has a festive feel now.
Step 7: This outdoor Christmas project is almost complete. Think about adding a bell to your doorknob and some throw pillows to finish the look. The little details are what makes a good design great. So go for it and add those little details.
Step 8: And don't forget to add an adorable old fashion rustic Santa. He will really warm up this space. I hope you get some inspiration and ideas to do some holiday decorating somewhere outside of your house. Merry Christmas!
