Have been cleaning out cabinets a lot these past few months here at home. It’s amazing how MANY things that I had forgotten that I had. Here is another one. I purchased this Christmas canister so long ago at a thrift store that I can’t even remember how long ago it has been. 😳. Anyway it was minus a lid and was only $.79 so I brought it home. I also found these silver plated Gorman pieces that, again, I purchased many years ago too. They came from a Lenox and Gorham outlet store that has since been closed years ago.

This is the canister with another of the Gorham silver plate pieces attached around the canister neck. It says peace and joy.

This is a tree that I have had no less than 20 years or LONGER. I remember having it in my office when I was working. I paid a whopping $3.00 for it brand new. Some of the berries have fallen off but that was okay with me.

I stuck a recycled piece of styrofoam into the canister and put the tree base into the canister on top of it. It wanted to wobble slightly so I took a solid red dish towel and wrapped it around the base of the tree stuffing it in tightly. 🤫. It’s a secret. This took care of the wobble. I bought a metal snowflake ornament at the Dollar Tree the other day. So my only cost for this project today is $1.00. I easily placed on top of the tree.

I’m still decorating around my house. I know I have some smaller ornaments that I haven’t gotten to. Will put updated photo when I get them on this tree. Purpose of this post is for folks to look through your stash of accumulated items OR your older Christmas decorations. I’m sure you have things that haven’t been used for a while. I’m excited about how putting the tree into the canister gave it a totally different look. Let me know what you think. Also hope you fellow Hometalkers have a great holiday season. Would love for you to look over my projects and even begin to follow me online. That way you don’t miss getting my newest posted projects.
