Happy Fall Y’all!

It's time to start decorating for fall and I have a upscale pumpkin decorating idea for your fall tablescape. I'm going to show you how to make gorgeous metallic pumpkins and the easy way to paint eye-catching checkerboard pumpkins!
This year, I was looking for some fancy pumpkin ideas to match my 86thegold home makeover. The pumpkins needed to be neutral, but still have PERSONALITY.

((In case you're wondering, I'm redesigning my home from browns & tuscan gold to blacks, whites and grays. You can see all of the #86 the gold rooms so far on my blog. It's looking fabulous!! and these pumpkins compliment it so well! ))
So I’ve sort of made my “branding” around black and white patterns….whether it is checks, stripes, solids or harlequin!  I couldn’t leave that out of my table scape!  So I VERY quickly and easily made a checkered pumpkin!

First,  I drew my lines with art markers (Click on my blog link to see the brand I love - they are paint and make this so easy- every DIYer will love them!)
... and then pulled out my black paint to fill in the squares!

I completed this large pumpkin in less than 8 minutes!!!!  Bring on all the pumpkins!  It’s checkerboard time!!!! (and no…it is NOT a soccer ball pumpkin….don’t be rude! LOL!)

For the metallic pumpkin, I used an adhesive spray and metal leafing sheets - which you can find in silver or gold. My blog post has all the brands I used and where you can find them.
You literally spray and press!

Super easy!!!  And did three pumpkins in just about 15 minutes!!

I did one in silver…and one in a patina gold leaf and a third I will tell you about at the end of this post ...

The metallic ones are brilliantly gorgeous….shiny…reflective….cracked and aged….and they MATCH my decor!!!!

Gorgeous!

One fan named them "upscale farmhouse" and I couldn't agree more! They are neutral --- with an edge!
