No Carve Unicorn Pumpkin

Carving pumpkins is one of those activities I love to do every fall no matter how old I get. If scooping out pumpkin guts and working with small children and knives isn’t your idea of fun, you can still get into the Halloween spirit with this no carve unicorn pumpkin.

You can get the SVG files for free if you visit the blog post on my website.

Supplies

  • Unicorn Pumpkin Cut File (see below for email sign up)
  • Black Heat Transfer Vinyl
  • White Craft Pumpkin (10-12 inch)
  • Gold Glitter Craft Foam
  • Rainbow Roving
  • Small Amount of White and Pink Craft Felt
  • Cricut Explore Air 2, Cricut Joy or Cricut Maker
  • Light Grip Mat
  • Cricut EasyPress Mini

  1. Download the cut file set, upload to Cricut Design Space and follow the prompts to cut the eye, mouth and nose shapes from the heat transfer vinyl. Because there is not any text, you do not need to mirror the design, but do remember to put the heat transfer vinyl shiny-side-down onto the light grip mat.
  2. Weed each of the vinyl designs and gently position them on the pumpkin.

Affix the vinyl

  1. Use the EasyPress Mini to affix the vinyl designs onto the front side (whichever side you pick) of the pumpkin.
  2. Peel away the transfer sheet from the pumpkin.

Cut out the horn.

Cut a horn out of glitter paper. Bend is slightly so that it curves around the stem.

Attach the horn

Glue the horn around the pumpkin stem.

Attach the ears

Cut out felt shaped ears and glue them to the pumpkin.

Add wool roving for the mane

Take rainbow colored wool roving and braid a piece. Then twirl the braid and the other pieces around the horn, gluing them in place. Let them hang off the back of the pumpkin to look like a rainbow mane.
