Trash to Treasure rustic looking orbs... from recycled cardboard ribbon spools. Take a look at how I did it- I love them!
I'm a pack rat. I keep so much trash! But these turned into small treasures!
Find 4 cardboard ribbon spools that match in size. You want to use the skinny spools, but the circumference doesn't matter. I made 2 different sizes.
You'll need to trim the scrap pieces of paper from the edges. I used my trusty exact knife, and ran it around the inside and outside all around. You won't be able to get every piece off, but that gives it a more rustic look. Afterwards, paint the inside, outside and edges.
Next I put 3 hoops together, and put the 4th around the 3 horizontally. Space them and work them into an orb shape. You can squeeze them a little to make it rounder, but don't squeeze too hard or they will fold in!
Now to find an empty spot for my new orbs!

This is a neat idea - they might even make neat Christmas ornaments if you tied them off with a pretty ribbon. Love!
