I love it when I find these large cake stands aka cloches, especially when the base is wooden and the glass is in perfect condition.

This one was pretty scratched up, but it’s not too deep, it’s definitely fixable!

I used my palm sander to sand it down as much as I could, then I chose a similar wood stain called early American by miniwax from Home Depot which matched pretty well.

Now it’s nice and smooth and ready for a stencil.

I decided to use this one as I wanted it to have a farmhouse feel to it! For the color, I used magnolias gatherings paint color for the stencil.

The stencil was a perfect fit and went on easily. All it needs now is a light wax coat and it’ll be done!

Once the paint dried, I lightly sanded it, using a smooth sand block, then used Varathane wax from Home Depot to seal it.

That’s all there is to it! Now it has a fresh new look and ready to display baked goods ect..

I’m loving how it turned out, it’s perfect and will be a lovely conversation piece as well as the perfect cake stand also an Easy and inexpensive Diy project!

Thanks for stopping by, till next time! Xx

Have a great day!

Shouldn’t you have sealed it with a food friendly sealer.
