Decorate your home with the new DIY Candy Dish from Dollar Tree! It’s great for storing your candies, decorations, or even as a base for your own homemade cupcakes! Gold Foil flakes are attached to the top of this beautiful white glass dish.

More and more I find myself opting for diy decor in my home. Call me Boujee, but I am very picky when it comes to decor in my home. If you’ve made your own home decor before, you know the best place to shop for diy materials are the Dollar Tree.

MATERIALS:

  • Dollar Tree pink candy dish
  • Rust-Oleum Ultra Cover 2X Matte Spray White
  • Gold Foil Flakes
  • Mod Podge Waterbase Sealer, Glue and Finish Matte

I love using Rust-Oleum Ultra Cover 2X spray paint because it delivers twice the coverage compared to other spray paint. I recommend spraying and letting the first coat dry and going back in with a second coat.

Add class to your candy dish with gold foil flakes. These flaked pieces give a whimsical, “real” look to your home decor, and will serve as an eye-catching decorative accent.

Use a paint brush and apply Mod Podge where you want your design and place the flaked gold leaves where you want them to stick.

Lightly press the gold leaves and let them dry for 1 hour and brush excess leaf off.

I am in love with the overall look and how it instantly modernizes this pink tray . Can’t wait to work on our next project. Please post any questions below.

Here is the final look. Let me know what you all think.

“As a base for your own homemade cupcakes”?

amazing transformation of a horrible pink candy dish but I don’t see a “cupcake base” in them.
