DIY Pineapple Doormat

Create a fun pineapple doormat, perfect for summer!
To begin your pineapple doormat, start with a plain coir door mat.
Position a pineapple stencil on the doormat. I created my stencil with a Cricut cutting machine but a purchased one would work just fine too. Make sure it is secured to the surface with adhesive (if the stencil isn't already adhesive, spray the back with spray adhesive). Contact paper makes a great material to use to make stencils with a Cricut machine as well as stencil vinyl.
Using a small brush, saturate in between the stencil with paint... the paint needs to be pretty thick to cover all of the mat (green outdoor paint for the heads of the pineapple and yellow outdoor paint for the body of the pineapple). Don't be afraid to really jam the paint brush into the grooves of the coir to get the most opaque color. This project is kind of rough on the paint brush so I used cheap paint brushes from the dollar store.
I chose a design with 3 pineapples but you can design them however you'd like! Watermelons or popsicles would be fun for summer too!
