Home decor is a DIY project I get requests for very often. Because of that, it’s one of the more simple crafts to make. Of course, it wouldn’t be an affordable home decor DIY without using Dollar Tree items. Firstly, I’ll have to go over supplies, so let’s get into it. Don’t forget that you can always watch the reply video here!

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • Elmer’s glue
  • Jennifer Pugh Print
  • A wood block
  • Scrap fabric/ribbon

Firstly, I used that cardboard and rolled it up. Then, using some tape, secure it. You’ll be using this later for the scrap fabric.

Secondly, take some black paint and dilute it in water. You’ll then paint the wood piece so it appears a bit darker. By diluting the paint you’ve created more of a stain for the wood rather than painting it straight black. Next, you’ll also want to cut your desired Jennifer Pugh print out from your selection. Using some Elmer’s glue, you’ll then spread an even amount onto the wood piece and place the print down.

Thirdly, you’ll finally be using that scrap fabric and measuring cardboard we made. The first thing you’ll want to do it take a ribbon strip and outline the side of the wood piece with it. Don’t glue any on the bottom or else the wood piece won’t stand the way it’s suppose to. Taking your cardboard, you then will begin to make your scrap fabric pom pom for your home decor. To do this, criss cross your fabric on the cardboard, going piece by piece. Then, secure a thread in the middle and cut it off the cardboard. You’ll more than likely have to trim some of the longer pieces.

Finally, you have your completed home decor piece!

This little wood piece would look amazing as home decor pretty much anywhere. You can even go as far as adding a way to hang it up on the walls if you wanted to.
