Do you have a chandelier that you'd like to update? I've had this one sitting in my garage for several years. You can find lots of them at estate sales and they often just need a little TLC to be good as new.

I wanted to give it a new, more modern look and it was surprisingly easy. Here's how you can do it.

Step 1 - Clean the chandelier and allow it to dry.

Next lie it on a piece of cardboard.

Using spray paint, sweep all around one side. Allow it to sit for thirty minutes and dry before rotating. Spray paint works best if you sweep quickly over the surface rather than concentrating on one spot, which can make it look drippy.

You can remove the crystals if you want them to be a different color or paint them for a monochromatic look.

After thoroughly coating all sides allow it to dry.

Replace the shades with something new and more modern. I bought some replacement shades for $30 on Amazon, you can get any color in the rainbow. Once it's dry it's ready to hang.
