This year my kids and I wanted to make a special Mother's Day gift for their grandma. Since they like to bake together, we decided to go with a baking theme. We turned an inexpensive flour sack towel into a super cute tea towel as part of her gift.
First I found a cute quote about baking and typed it up. I printed it out and laid it underneath the tea towel. (If you would like a copy of the quote, you can download it on my blog for free.)
Next I used Sharpie fabric markers to trace over the quote. It was really easy to see the text through the towel, thank goodness! I never would have been able to replicate that text or spacing on my own!
My kids stamped their thumbprints all around the quote using a light brown fabric paint. After the paint dried, we used a black fabric marker to add dots to those thumbprints, turning them into chocolate chip cookies!
The towel turned out just awesome!
We wrapped it up with some baking accessories and have an adorable gift for Mother's Day! To see more photos, a complete supply list, and for a free download of the quote that you see on this towel, please visit my blog at the link below!
