DIY Chalkboard #backtoschool

I repurposed an old cabinet door into a cute chalkboard!
Almost too cool for school! The cabinet door hangs from it's original hinges with a piece of yellow rope.
The supplies: an old cabinet door (got mine at Habitat Restore for $1.00), chalkboard paint, craft paint, water and some yard sticks.
The door was painted with two coats of chalk paint. After it dried, I cut the yard sticks to fit as a boarder around the writing surface. The sticks were stained with watered down craft paint in yellow, lime, turquoise and pink. I glued them on with a bit of Gorilla Glue.
There you have it! The yard sticks make a narrow ledge just big enough to hold the chalk in place! More tips on the blog!
