I had a collection of old outdated tin spice cans and vintage cookie cutters that I had been saving to use in a project. Finally inspiration hit me. I did not take many photos of my project, but I think you get the idea.
I gathered my spice tins and cookie cutters and found 2 boards that I could use to make my spice shelf. (I had already started decorating the cookie cutters before I realized what I was going to do with them.
After staining the wood and using wood screws to secure the boards together, I stenciled the word 'Spices' and attached 2 pegs to hand the cookie cutters from.
I then glued some magnets to the top of the shelf.
Here is what the shelf looked like before decorating it with the spice tins and the cookie cutters.
I placed the spice tins on top of the magnets so they would not fall off if the shelf gut bumped or moved.
I finished decorating the cookie cutters with whatever crafting paper, ribbons, crafting paint I had in my collection. I then tied string to the back of the cookie cutters so I could hand them from the pegs on the shelf.
The finished project. Now I needed to decide where to hang it.
There was no room in the kitchen and found a place above a window in the family room.
