I wanted to see if a totally 'lazy' way of growing an avocado tree would work, too. And it does! Now I'd like to show you the easiest way to grow an avocado plant, so you can do it yourself, too! Check it out.
Just love my avocado trees. They are so easy to grow - you just need to be patient and wait a while for them to sprout. If you like avocado, simply stop throwing away pits. There is a fast way to use them to make your home full of these beautiful green plants.
When planting the avocado pit, I do something that no professional will recommend: I place the pit directly into the pot. No piercing the pit, no balancing it above the water level. Bottom line: it works.
I showed more images and details in this post at AppleGreen Cottage.
And to be honest, I have no idea whether this simplified, 'lazy' way would work for other types of pits. If anyone has been successful with a mango, please drop me a note!
See? All these stems are avocados, all grown from pits. (No need to say I love avocados, right?)

I definitely will do everything suggested. I love planting and growing everything I can. To me it's a feeling that I can do almost anything. If I can get things to grow from seeds, & or cuttings that means a lot. Thank you Damjana.

Frequently asked questions
Have a question about this project?
Thank you for the info, I have been putting them in water, pierced with toothpicks. When I planted the seeds afterwards nothing happened, maybe I wasn't patient enough. When is a good time to plant them & in sun or partial shade? How much water do they need? I also love to see different plants grow, I love to garden.
Thank for the Info.
Kathy
