What you will need:
One 14" Wire Wreath (Amazon)
Two Packs of Black Deco Mesh Tubing (Amazon)
18 Pipe cleaners(Amazon)
1 foot of 22-24 gauge wire (Amazon)
One ghost ( Dollar Tree, Party City, Big Lots, Walmart, etc.)
Two rolls of White Deco Mesh 5.5" ( Hobby lobby, Michaels, Amazon)
One roll of Black Deco Mesh 5.5" ( Hobby Lobby, Michaels)
Decorations you would like to use to adorn the wreath
We want to help you DIY, so some of the materials in this post are linked to sellers. Just so you know, Hometalk may collect a small share of sales from the links on this page.
Let's get started...
Begin by placing 18 pipe cleaners on the wreath. What I do is place ONE on each of the inner 6 sections. I take them, fold them in half and twist around two bars. ( See video for better description). Next, place two on either side of the one on the inside, however you will want to place them on the outer two rings.
Next, cut 10" pieces of each color of the deco mesh.
We are going to be doing the "Curl method"
In which we will be rolling the deco mesh in tubes, and placing three in each pipecleaner.
Place two white pieces of mesh on either side of one black piece of mesh, clump them together and place them in the pipe cleaner. Give one generous twist. After you go throughout each of the 18 pipe cleaners with your mesh, begin adding your deco mesh tubing. You can precut a length, however I find it easiest to work with while it is still attached. I create "bowties" with three 3" loops on either side, in total of 6 loops per pipe cleaner. Go through and twist the pipe cleaner several times to ensure it is firmly attached. Do that for all 18 pipe cleaners.
Now, place the ghost where you would like it. Once you do that, you can begin feeding your wire around the ghost, and attaching it FROM BEHIND to the metal frame.
Adjust any pieces that look awkward, and fill in any gaps you may have, and VOILA! A gorgeous Halloween that will WOW all your neighbors, friends, and family. Want to stay up to date with the college student as I work to grow my business to its full potential?
