EZ Pottery Barn Knock Off Vanity

My friend, MIchelle, loves to "rescue" castaways on the curb. Our city is having a clean up day to put out old furniture and appliances, and she has great taste in upgrading plain old wood to look new and artistic. Grab the paint. You will want to create your own new desk look with this easy project.

This low quality looking desk was transformed with a little cleaning, and paint. First she painted the desk and chair cream colored then marked off her designs to stencil and draw a whimsical artistic pattern and paint them brown.

Here is the wooden chair to go with the desk. It needed some tender care and up dating. You won't believe what she did to this chair!

Here is the same chair painted with a cream furniture paint with mature dandelions and the seeds parachuting off into the wild on the fresh breath of spring winds. How darling is that! The dancing dandelions are painted the same brown as the artistic designs on the desk.

The front of the drawer she matched with the designs on the top of the desk in that same chocolate brown.

The window was added to the mirror and shelves for a vanity backing. Notice the three shelves on each side. Now the desk is transformed into a darling vanity. What teen age girl would not want to sit at this table to do her hair, makeup and nails?

Here's a little better view of the vanity desk. This gives a different angle to view the "window" mirror between the side shelves.

Here's a closer view of the vanity decorations and designs. How unique, whimsical, and fun for any teen girl. She has shelves for all her favorite polishes and cans of spray. There's a drawer for her diary, combs, and curling irons or whatever she uses. An old, sad desk has become a girl's dream personal vanity. I would love this and I have not been a teen for half a century!
