I'm re-doing my living room on a tight budget and really wanted a mirrored buffet to take my "modern glam" room style up a notch.

My original plan was the mirror the whole thing, drawers, sides and top.. but as I progressed I realized it didn't need it all and had a classier look with some of the grey paint showing.

Check my baby out!!:

I scoured the internet and my neighborhood for a solid piece to DIY and found this beauty for free!
First step was taking off the hardware and cleaning it all off.
I wanted to use chalk paint- But it is not so readily available where I live, so I made it ! with a paint, plaster and water combo (That's a story for a different time..)
The first 2 layers didn't look great..
I sanded in between and kept on trying..
Looking better...
Aaaand the painting is done..
(I ended up adding 2 layers of regular water based paint to finish it off and give a smoother look)
I then added 2 layers of water based lacquer
Now it was time to start adding the mirrors..
I had them cut to size in a local shop and glued them on with this crazy strong industrial glue
I got a thick glass piece to protect the top and we have an (almost) finished product!

I am still choosing nobs and having a really hard time because I like the no- nob clean look- but I need something there.. so I keep taping on options and the search continues...
