How can I find missing dining room table leafs?
I need ideas! I scored a beautiful (free) round dining room table, but it did not come with any leafs (leaves?) to make it bigger. I would like to get 2 more so the table would seat more than 4 people. Where and how would I find them? Thanks!

Look for a manufacturers label, model number, makers mark. Google those and see if you find anything and call the mfg. Not all table leafs are made the same.
Look for identifiers on your table, probably on the underside, if you can see who the manufacturer is and contact them with your request for leaves.
An alternative is to make your own:

Yes, I know it says charcoal grill, but the first part of the link is about your diy project.
If you can identify the company who made the table, you should be able to contact them for leaves. Otherwise, they will have to be made. Here's a link:

You could try thrift stores, Habitat ReStore, Facebook Marketplace, or Craigslist. I’ve seen leaves at thrift stores quite often.
You could also put an ad in Craigslist under Items Wanted.
It's free, and you never know, someone just might have table leaves that they don't need anymore.
Hi Kathy, if you can't find replacement leaves for your beautiful table here's a video that will show you how to make new ones - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HlxaqhmxMmg
As a purely practical solution, which you won't see under a tablecloth, you could get a piece of MDF or plywood in the thickness you need cut to size for you at a home improvement store. Then you just have to drill holes for the dowel so you can put the table together. Since it may take some time to find actual leaves, this might be a quick and inexpensive solution until you do.
If you're not able to find leafs to fit, you could have them made by separating the table (as though to add the leafs) and measuring where the pegs on the leafs were to fit, then have two boards cut and fitted with the appropriate fittings. I hope you're able to find the manufacturer's markings and able to purchase ready-made ones.
you could have someone make them for you if you know of a woodworker
is the top solid or does it seem to pull apart?

Here is a link to a furniture restorer that sells what you are looking for they should be a very good place to start.

If you know the manufacturer you can google it, but chances are unless you go to a thrift store of Salvation Army store it is going to be hard to find leaves that actually fit. I have one I never use, wish I could get it to you.
If your table comes apart, you might be able to find a cabinet maker who can make a matching leaf. Another thought would be to scour thrift stores.
It i sbest if you identify the company that made the table. Or you can also try thrift stores, Craiglist, and Facebook Marketplace.
Yes, it is leaves (not leafs).
I bought mine at an antique store. There are usually a lot of these around. I suggest you take a picture and post it to this web site. Also, you can have these made for you.
aSK A cARPENTER TO MAKE A COUPLE UP FOR YOU.
I'd look for a manufacturer label and then see if you can search up someone selling similar sized leafs. An easier option may be to find someone to make one for you.
Hi Kathy, here are some great ideas to hopefully help you out,

You could also try to make your own,

Great Question! I hope you find the perfect solution. Alternatively in desperation you could make your own diy hardware store or thrifted wooden substitutions and cover your table with a decorative tablecloth.
If you need to make your own plywood works just fine. You might be able to get by with one large leaf instead of two. And if you can't find the correct wood thickness just add a thin piece of anything to the bottom of the leaves right over where the supports are to make the thickness correct.
You would have to make a piece that’s missing.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HlxaqhmxMmg
Perhaps a local custom wood worker could help. You will need to provide details, perhaps some pics
Try a thrift store take the name and model and a pic with you try good wills or if you know someone handy they could make them for you
