The Prettiest DIY Garden Station Storage Solutions
Here are my easy steps for finishing a cabinet into a pretty one and bring it outside to create a garden station for entertaining outside and storing barbecues items.
An old cabinet can be used for many different things. I decided to re-do it into something that has personality. I had this cabinet in my garage for a long time. I had partially painted it white years ago and its time it gets finished.
Supplies needed:
Old cabinet
White Paint
Paint Brush
Sander
Philips Head screwdriver
- Take Off Hardware and sand the cabinet
2. Paint the Cabinet White
I used the leftover paint I had from another project. I decided to paint this by hand since much of it was already painted. It took me about a good hour to paint all the inside doors and cabinet shelves white. Let that dry overnight. The cabinet bones have a very attractive French country look to it. Since I don’t have a room in my home, it is going to look pretty against the green outdoors.
3: Sand Corners
Since most of the work was done years ago, the sanding of the edges will be easy and fast. I am obsessed with white and heavily distressed edges. So I hit the sander on those parts extra long. This is pine so the wood grain is light which makes it even more pretty.
4. Put hardware back on.
This piece is about 20 years old and the hardware has a pretty scroll design to it. The white paint brings out the patina even more.
My son and I carried it to the garden area. I knew it would look super pretty among the trees and plants. The plants add life to the piece and the feeling of outside making it magical.
I added a 3 tier metal tray to hold the linen and utensils & coffee cups. A porcelain tea kettle. 2 large flower pots filled with mums added that perfect blend of garden decor.

Growing up financially challenged I think distressed furniture is perfect only for the outdoors. I love this!
