Transformation of a Boring Brown Cupboard

When I had people in to construct a new door from my old wine cellar into my kitchen there was this boring brown wooden cupboard around the corner and I decided to make use of it. But it was just too ugly to leave it as it was. So I decided to go ahead and give it a bit of a makoever with some chalk paint and a ceiling decal. First I glued one of these styrofoam ceiling roses on the door.
While the glue was drying, I put stick on plastic on the little shelves and the inside of the door. I chose a nice pattern that I liked and it really makes all the difference.
I decided to put all my little spice bottles for cooking and other bits and pieces in it. It's the perfect space for that!
Then I painted the outside of the cabinet including the rose. I used a dove grey colored chalk paint and I like the result.
Here's the finished cabinet! I love the makeover and all it took was some contact paper and a coat of paint! Add a small detail on the front and voila! It is finished!
Suggested materials:
  • Dove grey chalk paint   (local store)
  • Ceiling rose   (for ages it was waiting to be used)
