You can instantly up the level of luxury, elegance, and style of a room in your home with an appropriate set of curtains. The bothersome thing about it is finding curtains that are the right size, look, and price. Enter these stunning DIY rod pocket curtains

That’s why you shouldn’t even look for them, just make them instead! Don’t worry if you don’t know how, because here comes a straightforward tutorial that will teach you.

Get the dimensions of your new curtains

Add fourteen inches to your desired length. That will be the length of the fabric piece you’ll cut.

The width depends on your preference regarding the look of the curtains. If you want them to feature a slightly gathered look, multiply your desired width by 1.5. To get a standard look, multiply it by 2. And to get a heavily gathered look, multiply it by 3.

Once you finish multiplying, add two more inches to the final measurements, and you’ll get the width.

Cut out a piece in the dimensions you got.

To cut your fabric perfectly straight, you can pick and pull a thread, and then cut along that line

Start making the curtains

Fold the short edges in half an inch, press them flat, and stitch them. Then fold the top edge down three inches twice. This will be the rod casing. Press it and run two parallel stitches. First, stitch close to the bottom edge of the casing and then run a line of stitching 1 inch under the top

Finish the curtains

Check and see at which point the curtains touch the floor when you hang them up on the window. Mark eight inches below that point.

Fold the bottom edge up with its wrong side in for four inches twice. Sew the fold as close to the edge as possible and your new curtains will be ready for action!

These curtains are the fastest possible project you can give a go when you want to spruce up your bedroom or living room with a new, classy, subtle décor.
