Help design my white washed brick fireplace mantle
I need ideas for my white washed brick fireplace mantle. Every day decor.
I like the stone and don't think the cast surround works with it. Remove it.
I would attempt to remove the marble without damaging it and sell it off to someone who is going for that style of decor. The stack stone is beautiful but the white marble doesn't seems to stark of a contrast to enhance it at all.
I think a simple coat of grey paint the same shade as in the existing tile is the best idea. It stands out too much on the background. It will blend in well in grey.
you question posted twice but you have answers in both places
I would very carefully remove the mantle. Seel it on Market Place.
Looks ok to me, but would need to see more of the room for a proper assessment.
I agree that the mantle just isn't working there anymore and I like the idea of adding more stone. Maybe you could get a rustid wood mantle instead?
I love it but you should do whatever makes you happy.
I am pretty sure this question has been asked twice, so do check the answer on the other post, in case you miss some good ideas.
If possible I would paint the marble black...
It looks as though there are some nice warm tones of greys and browns in the stone. The light color of the mantel, IMO, is not harmonious with the wall. It looks cold, and it almost seems as if it remains unfinished.
It is a great deal of work and big mess to remove the mantel, and then you will be faced with the additional dilemna with what to put under the TV.
My suggestion is to first paint the mantel a darker color that is more complementory with the stone, and see if you like it better, before you go removing it all together.
Looks like a battle between mod and traditional. Get rid of mantle.
The white marble doesn't go with the stacked stone. Try very gently removing it and then see if the space needs something else.
I like how it looks like that. I think you should leave it
