Found an old leather foot stool. It was well built with a wood frame and good springs. I thought it would be a good upholstery project.
Found this foot stool at the park dump.
I took the upholstery off carefully, so I could use it as a pattern
Inside the stool was good springs and a wooden frame. I noticed how it was put together. The top part was in 2 parts, so attention had to be made to the way it was tufted.
A masculine look was what I was going for and the coffee bean burlap bags a friend had given me was going to be perfect. , but what other fabric to use? In my fabric stash, was this black, white and tan fabric leftover from another project. The burlap was loosely woven so I backed it with black fabric (also from my stash)
Use lots of staples.
Here you can see the two separate pieces.
The top cushion I crazy patched with black fabric, black/white fabric and burlap. Black buttons were used to tuft and anchor the top cushion to the bottom cushion..
Enjoyed the project?
