Hexagon Table Gets a Makeover

Picked up this 70s style brown hexagon table... wanted to try something completely different this time... check her out! Her name is Liv
Chalk painted her with a creme color in order for the Unicorn SPiT to adhere...
Added a mix of colors...i used Blue Thunder, Purple Hill Majesty, Midnight's Blackness, and Zia Teal! I didn't dilute at all! I just painted it on and used my fingers to spread it around. Unicorn SPiT is one of my most favorite products to work with because it really allows you to bring out color. When you add water, it becomes easier to work with and you can keep layering if you want! It's so much different than your run of the mill paint, stain or glaze. You can even use it to tint a glaze, which i have done as well.
Distressed here and there...
Re-did the handles to a silver - used gilding wax
sealed in a wipe on poly
didnt know what to do with the top... wanted to break it up somehow so i just decided on black - but overall, i am happy with her and i think it's a fun piece!
Enjoyed the project?

Beth H. Makemeprettyagain.blogspot on Apr 19, 2016Wow. you are one busy lady! Not a fan of the Spit on furniture, but this one is the exception. I like how you blended the gorgeous colors on this otherwise dated piece. Looks much better.
