I gave this old coffee table a new life. Bought this guy for 25$ the table legs and the frame was solid wood but the squares in it was press board and when I started sanding it for paint they started crumbling. So I went another rout good ol pallet wood and a little paint and stain and wala... I think it turned out well.
i sanded it down to bare wood for staining. And as you can see the edges of the squares are crumbling because its press board.
I took my jig saw and cut out the squares to be replaced with pallet wood. i painted the bottom part white and stained the top with poly and stain mix color kona. I did put 1 inch braces across the bottom for support.
I streaked the pallet boards with the white paint that i used and when dry I went over it with the stain and poly mix to get the effect i wanted.
And this is the end result.
I think it turned out really nice.
