Guys, I am finally getting through my stash! I still have quite a few projects but I found the cutest little stool I had forgotten about.

As you can see from the picture, I paid $4.99 for it.

It’s simple and it’s sturdy!

UPDATE: I ended up repainting this stool. Check for the pics and description of what I did at the very bottom of the page.

I decided to paint it Mint Chip by DIY, like this chair but not quite that green and not with the dark stain on it! I ended up mixing Mint Chip with some Falling Snow by Behr to lighten it up.

The above picture is just one coat of paint. I found with DIY paint, it’s too thick for me and grainy. Both can be solved by adding water to thin it down and sanding after each layer. That’s exactly what I did here.

After painting the stool with two coats of this paint mixture, I didn’t like it! (didn’t get a picture of the second coat on). I even asked my daughter what she thought! A big NOPE.

I decided to go with the old stand by of white!! Leaving the green still on the stool, I start painting it in Falling Snow. I love it!

When all the paint was dry I distressed it.

Taking sandpaper and distressing it so the green and the brown come through was a good idea. It’s not for everyone and I truly second-guessed myself but a dear friend and my family thought it looked just fine.

Tell me what you think?

It was a simple and straightforward project with just paint involved.

Would you have done something differently?

The only thing I need to do is seal it because I do want to use it!

UPDATE:

Friends, the more I looked at this little stool the more I didn’t care for it! So I repainted the top with just white paint, added a trim made of paper clay around the outside, and added pieces of transfer to the top.

NOW I love it!!

Do you like it better than before or should I have left it the same?

Let me know yes or no!
