Upcycle Foot Stool

I found this crate, and decided to make something out of it.
I built a lid and then bought some foam for padding, the material to cover the top was an old tea towel cloth, which was the right size.

I upholstered the top and found another plain cloth for the inside of the lid. I connected the lid to the crate using a piano hinge
I had some thin steel cable in my shed so I made a small hinge stop so the lid doesn't open up an fall all the way back. I made 4 feet for it out of scrap wood just to lift it off the floor, only about 50mm, I sanded & varnished.
Footstool and I can store magazines or papers inside, Job Done!

Awesome. I have an 75 year old wooden crate from my Grandfather's produce farm that I have had for years never really knew what to do with it until now. Can't wait to get started.
