Genius Under The Bed Storage Upcycle

My parents were going to get rid of this ugly old laminate book shelf. I agreed with them that it wasn't pretty to look at, but instead of getting rid of it I figured why not give it a makeover. But even better than a makeover, why not give it a new and more useful function. So I turned it into an under the bed rolling storage drawer.

I like the idea but my under bed clearances are only 6-7 inches and these are taller than that. Any suggestions?

Definitely inspired. But I would have to cut the bookshelf in half to make them shorter (my king size bed takes up 90% of the width of my bedroom) and then screw a wooden board on the bottom each one to complete the “box”. And instead of putting the handles on the longer sides I’d have to put them on the short or top. Because my room is so small width wise I wouldn’t be able to fit anything on the sides of the bed. I would have to slide them under from the foot of my bed. A little bit more work but definitely a great idea!! Thanks for the inspiration!!
