Building a Driftwood Gate at Rocky Road Backpackers

Rocky Road Backpackers
by Rocky Road Backpackers
Firstly, you need to collect a whole lot of driftwood off the beach after a storm. We built the frame work with treated timber, as driftwood is untreated and the insects and termites move in fairly quickly. Attach your driftwood to the treated poles for they will last for many years. Use a high pressure hose to remove old and rotten pieces. Treat the driftwood pieces with paraffin and a small mix of two stroke oil.
Structure built with treated timber
Start your pattern with a circular shape.
Continue building and thicken the circular shape
Use a high pressure hose to remove old/rotten pieces.
Add a roof.
Use lights for an amazing effect.
