Adirondack Chairs Cloned for Christmas

To buy an Adirondack chair, just one chair, will set you back about $50…EACH. We wanted to give a set of Ardirondack chairs, but they were out of our price range. Well, one isn't, but six? No way. $300 is a bit steep for us.
Have you considered redesigning furniture for gifts? It's such a great way to give a personalized gift to friends and family.
We found 6 chairs from three different sources at a reasonable price on Craig's List and repaired, scraped and sanded off just enough of the the old paint to provide a good surface. Then we primed with our HomeRight sprayer.
And then painted them using leftover paint, mixed to just the right blue with our HomeRight sprayer. We mixed several colors to get the blue we wanted and then sprayed every chair so they would match.
After it dried, we dry brushed gray to give it a weathered look and top coated it with an exterior varnish.
Being on a tight budget doesn't mean we can't give great gifts. Of course it helps when you have family that appreciates every little thing and can see the effort you put in as the greater gift.

Painting them all the same makes them into a "matched set" even though they are different designs - 4 are wood and 2 are plastic, in 4 different styles. But they look so great together!
We top coated using our sprayer as well, using an exterior varnish.
