Update Patio Furniture With Spray Paint

Today I’m sharing how I updated our patio chairs with spray paint.
If you’re scratching your head and thinking, wait a minute, “didn’t she show us this before,” you’re not crazy. I painted our other 4 chairs a few weeks ago and just did this other set of 3. Now they all are pretty with color.
The other chairs I did red, yellow, blue and green and these I wanted to do a little different.
Even my husband was surprised at how great they looked when I was done.
I went to Home Depot and used this Rust-Oleum 2X Ultra Cover and it took about 1 – 1 1/2 cans for each chair.
These were a yard sale find last year and I think they were $10 for the 3.
I washed them real good with soap and water and let dry. Then I just flipped them over and painted the underside and back first. Oh, make sure you really spread out your tarp or paint cloth because the over spray flies a little.
I just took my time spraying layers on and then would do some watering for a bit and come back and spray again. I probably did 3-4 light coats of paint.
Voila!! New patio chairs for us and I LOVE they way they turned out and it only cost me a few dollars.

Wanna see more outdoor inspiration? You can see the other chairs and our new Rainboot Garden on the blog, please come on over.

Are you doing anything to update your front or back yard?

Are those chairs made of the white resin material? I love the colors and didn't know you could paint them! You gave me an idea for mine now! Thanks!!
    • @ Hi Mary, I'm not sure if they are resin?? It's the standard plastic chairs that you see at Home Depot and all over. I have painted two sets now and they are holding up great. Do it, they look brand new when you're done.
