Creating a Garden Bunny for Your Porch or Patio

by Lynn Bean
What better way to say than a garden bunny to look over your patio garden. Dressed in bright colors she is certain to attract a lot of attention.
Henrietta the Garden bunny
What a face! She has been designed to make a statement on our lanai. She is dressed in the brightest spring colors to cheer your day.
Her body is made of wood.
She stands about 38 in tall. A plain old pine board has been used to fashion her body. Holes are drilled at the top of the board and then wire constructed to pose her arms. Her face and arms are muslin fabric and then she was painted and varnished. A trip to the dollar store scored a sunflower brooch alias wind chime. To keep the body from falling and holding it in place, triangles at 90-degree angles were cut from the wood and screwed onto the lower end of the body (board) so as to form a platform for her to stand upright.

To add more fun, a bucket filled with flowers and a wind sock were added to her costume.
What a face!
She has drawn a lot of attention and brought many smiles! Happy Spring!
