We moved into this house last fall and I found a spend a lot of time outside in our backyard space. Most mornings you can find me with an iced mocha in hand and hanging back here listening to the birds.

And mostly I stare at this shed that needs some color in its life.

Said shed

I found a can of oops paint in the shed last week that was Home Depot exterior paint. I don’t even know when it got in there but I decided right then and there I was going to paint the entire shed this new fun color.

Once I finished painting it I decided these two stained brown wood pieces needed something. And I just happen to have a stencil on hand that I knew would be perfect for it.

This star stencil. I have used it on a couple other projects that you can check out as well.

Here is the link for the stencil.

I used painters tape and adhesive to adhere the stencil so it would stay in place as I painted.

I went with a light cream paint I had on hand and the key is to barely have any paint on your brush. Wipe off any excess so it doesn’t leak through the stencil.

I overlapped the pattern as I went too.

I may just stay out here for like ever now. Haha
