Creating Colors That Charm

Mixing paint can be fun and a little addicting – and sometimes it’s just the ticket when you need that perfect color for your project.

Here are a few tried and true recipes from the Woodcraft/Black Dog team using Black Dog Salvage Furniture Paint to help you create a paint color that fits your décor perfectly.
· To lighten a color and soften the intensity, add Clean Canvas (a true white)
· To darken and make it a deeper hue, add Black Dog (a true black)

Blue Spruce:  1 part Go Green + 1 part Blue Ridge




Coral Rust: 2 parts Appalachian Sunset + 1 part Caution Dogs at Work
 




Denim Haze:  2 parts That’s Gonna Leave a Mark + 1 part Blue Ridge 




Emerald City: 2 parts Keep It Teal +  1 part Go Green





Linen and Lace: 1 part Dog Bone + 1 part Clean Canvas




Mountain Mist: 1 part Galvanized + 1 part Roanoke Rain




Our Navy: 2 parts Blue Ridge + 1 part Black Dog

    I mix a lot of my own colors, also! Been doing it for over 30+ years. I buy OOPS paint at Home Depot and Menards for a song.
