Brown Farmhouse Table Transformed for Family of 7

This was a brown table with planking that my client wanted to paint white. Instead, I took some inspiration from different objects around her home & her style started to come into view (beachy, distressed, cozy, fun). She chose salmon for wall color...and duck egg blue was the perfect choice to bring some fun into the eat-in area of her kitchen.
"After" - Client loved the result...I did, too! :-)
This is the wood sample I created for her table. This is the palette I helped her choose for her walls & furniture (salmon was the added surprise in the breakfast room)
Duck Egg Blue....enough sophistication in this color for the table so it didn't end up looking like circus colors.
Painted over the brown wood table in Chalk Paint....
Starting to "distresss" - see the undercoat coming through.
Almost done.....and ready for 2 coats clear polyurethane

  • @Jacqueline Elaine Thanks for the compliment! In answer to your question: I used straight Duck Egg with no dark glaze or other paint. Chalk Paint appears a bit lighter before polyurethane or wax (I did not use wax but I would next time - I like the look of a waxed finish as shown in the vanity projects listed on my project page where I waxed). Also, photography under flo light changed the color a bit :-)

  • @UNFOLDED I love working with Chalk Paint! Annie came to Atlanta last year, and I was lucky enough to take a seminar with her! :-)
