Little Miss Laundry Hamper

Make your least favorite chore a bit more interesting by giving your laundry hamper a mini makeover!

We have a new obsession - and it is called spray paint. Since we've moved to Kentucky Don and I have started going to auctions on the weekends looking for home decor pieces to rehab...and we will spray paint pretty much anything that isn't nailed down. We don't have kids, and we don't have pink anywhere in our house - but as SOON as I saw this vintage hamper I knew exactly what I wanted to do with it. And so I give you Little Miss Laundry Hamper!

Here was the hamper before. It was super cute but had obviously been well loved and needed a makeover!

We first hosed off the hamper then used Goof-Off to remove the decal.

Next, we sprayed the whole hamper with Rust-Oleum Protective Enamel Spray in Semi Gloss White, then took the lid off and taped the feet before painting the base with Rust-Oleum Painters Touch Ultra Cover 2x Gloss in Gloss Berry Pink.

Finally, we reassembled the hamper and then I used my Cricut Explore Air to design and cut the "little miss laundry" out of white vinyl and applied it to the hamper.

And voila! With a few coats of spray paint and some vinyl lettering, you can easily update a much loved (but beaten up) laundry hamper into something cute for your laundry room!
