I found this gem at a rummage sale for $3 and thought it would make an adorable plant stand. It just needed some tender loving care!
I cleaning it up, removed the seat cushion and prepped it with chalk paint and it was ready to try one stroke painting with Unicorn SPiT!
I put a dab of Dragon's belly and Lemon Kiss Unicorn SPiT on my pallet and took a damp sponge and dabbed over the area I wanted to paint the roses. I let it sit for a few minutes and wiped off the excess which left a faint background color.
I used Dragon's Belly and hand painted my stems to outline where my roses would go. I used a #12 flat brush and double loaded Purple Hill Majesty and Pixie Punk Pink. Unicorn SPiT is a gel stain and glaze I was very interested in seeing the one stroke technique outcome.

As you can see by the picture, it worked great! I painted the rose buds on the table and the back of the chair, then came back and painted in the leaves. I used a 3" roller to highlight the edges of the table and chair top with Purple Hill Majesty Unicorn SPiT and let it dry. I sealed it with Minwax indoor/outdoor spar urethane, and reupholstered and attached the seat cushion.
