I've seen people wrap them in decorative paper and use them to give Christmas cookies as a gift! Perfect size. :)
You could wrap them with decorative paper or fabric and use them to store odds and ends in a home office or in a craft room.
They can be covered with paper, cloth, or decoupaged to make them look great; then use for storage & organizing of craft items such as crochet hooks, beeds, and larger items. You can cut a slit in the top and create a cute coin bank. Also store holiday tree decorations in them and tennis balls.
I hope others will have ideas because I find myself saving them because they are quite sturdy.

Yes Bonnie,
You can make a kitchen/other room stand by using 3 or 4 as legs and placing something on top (Large Lid or Tray etc. Make it higher by adding smaller versions and place on top until you reach the height that is right. ( A sort of What Not) for all sorts of things) Decorate to taste. You can weight the legs by putting something in them to help with stability.

Storing art supplies or bows/ribbons
You could make some cool storage with them, cut them in half or keep them long, glue them together and paint them.
