This is a fun garden decor you can keep them colorful or do this cute shabby chic look. With these easy few steps. Let’s see how cute these cement gnomes can be. Black and white has become a popular style. This will be perfect to go with your Rea Dunn decor for spring.

So this is a fun way to make these colorful gnomes more neutral. This great shabby chic technique is easy and even great for children to paint with spring break right around the corner. It will be a fun afternoon diy.

What you’ll need:

black spray paint

white paint

paper towel

dry brush

gnome (Dollar Tree)

Take to a well ventilated area and spray in black. Let completely dry. If you have more time you could also use any black paint. I tend to spray everything for speed but either works fine. Just be sure to let dry.

Use your white paint, dry brush, and napkin this is a dry brush technique. Dip your brush in the paint then wipe it out on your paper towel (See video for more details) so there is very little paint on your brush. Then whip across the grain leaving the paint in the cracks so you get a two-dimensional look you can do as heavy or as light as you want.

Use a small dry brush to get in small spots. Now a dry brush is: white/ cream bristle brush that is stiff bristles they are not the soft kind

Here it is. This quick easy diy makes a cute decor item for inside or outside. If using outdoors I’d put a clear mat finish for long lasting and protection. What do you think? I love how it came out. I have used them painted and repainted it’s just a fun easy way to decorate. See more at Gilbert Marketplace on YouTube
