Add Some Privacy To Your Window
My bathroom window is in the perfect spot.... to give the neighbors a preview into our lives. 😂 Unfortunately, we have had to pretty much keep the blinds drawn every day to keep the peering eyes out, but we really miss out on letting the natural light in. I decided it was time to add a little privacy to our bathroom lives by adding a pretty film I found on Amazon. It was easy to install and quick to put up. Follow along as I show you how I added the perfect touch to our window to let the light in, while blocking the view to outsiders!
First step - clean your window! Pro tip: I use windex for everything, and it's absolutely perfect for this job as well! Spray your window down and then wait for it to dry.
I held up my window film so I could decide what part of it I wanted to use. I knew I would need to cut this film to size. I choose to use the top portion of this film, keeping in mind that would be one less side to cut when fitting the film.
Once I decided what section of the window film I was using, I marked where I wanted to cut on the back side of the paper. I recommend using a ruler to mark your line across the entire film, to ensure you cut in a straight line! Pro tip: leave an inch or so on each side of the film you want to cut so that when you place it on your window, you can use a box cutter to trim it perfectly to size.
Cut your window film to size. Remeber to leave about an inch or so extra!
Place the film on the window. I secured the top first so I could work ny way down the window, securing the film.
Use a card to help adhere the film to the windo and remove any air bubbles that may be trapped. Then, carefully use your box cutter to remove excess window film.
Stand back and enjoy! This was the perfect solution to our problem and provided a ton of privacy while allowing in natural light! I couldn't be happier with how this project turned out!
