When I saw the tree I used to climb as a kid dying I knew I wanted to keep part of it to save as memories. Luckily for me it was the perfect time of year to take some dead tree branches, a few weeds and a little ingenuity and make a fun and spooky decoration for our front porch. Yes, I'll make a few brooms and decorate them. We had to cut down our dying silver maple this summer and the limbs will work really well. Thanks for the instructions.

Inspired. We have smut grass in our pasture and I do think it will work for the broom. As for the handle, loads of dead branches as well. Yeah!

Frequently asked questions
Have a question about this project?
where do you get straw from?
I love them and would enjoy making them but not just for Halloween. I have been looking for instructions just as these for my personal practice however I do not know what a whip knot is or how to tie one. Would you please provide instructions? Thank you
Are you planning on providing actual instructions??
