Helen on Jun 16, 2016For all that think Borax is dangerous please read this article: http://wellnessmama.com/26407/borax-safe/ Borax is not Boric acid. My mother used it for years and so have I. No problems and I am 70. Do not drink or eat and you will be fine.

Dorothy, I am a make up artist, and very knowledgeable as far as skin care goes. Your dermatologist is obviously correct. I myself use Dove beauty bar and have used only Dove soap my whole life. I will suggest as a lotion for itchy dry skin CeraVe is really good for that. It's also non sticky and the consistency is not too thick. It lasts through a couple hand washings and on the body lasts most of the day. If I'm feeling itchy I put some on the those areas and it really helps. But yes Dove will really help to improve the Condition of your skin.

I really love this homemade laundry detergent! Cheap to make and totally customize-able to whatever size batch your household needs.
I make 1/3rd sized batches since I'm single and do not have much laundry or a family with kids. I use my old bars of goat milk soap that are to small to hang onto in the shower. Grates up like cheese with the shredding disc of my food processor and pulverizes into very small granules.
I use 1-2 T for small to medium loads and 3-4 T for large to extra large loads or very dirty loads. Haven't had any trouble with it dissolving or leaving residue behind on my clothes in any water temperature.
I'm giving serious thought to getting a high efficiency front loading washer for the water savings and really want to use this detergent in it. Has anyone else tried this and what are your results? Any information would be appreciated.
