Repurposed Bunk Bed Coat Rack Shelf

Old furniture is so well built, that it makes perfect NEW and useful pieces. I used an old bunk bed part to make a fun and functional coat rack shelf.
I'm not usually one to distress my projects, but this one has turned out to be one of my very favorite coat racks.
It all started with this free bunk bed. Don't overlook the unique possibilities when you come across real wood furniture.
after a few careful cuts and some re-orientation, I'm on my way to a great new (easy) project!
Projects like this are so much easier to paint with a Homeright Finish Max. I prefer to paint many projects at once, using my DIY chalky paint primer.
I added a 1x4 on the top (bottom) of the bunk bed. This is how it looks after some black primer.
This hook rack is perfect for a mud room, laundry room, kitchen or bath. For more painting and distressing tips visit My Repurposed Life

Have a question about this project?
I love this stuff but my concern is how heavy is it going to be hanging on a wall, especially with coats added?
